Joining SynthSights
Our subject matter can get us into some self-analysis, so it is important that SynthSights remains a haven for constructive and understanding discourse among friends. We warmly welcome idle gossip, wild speculation, filthy thinking, bad language, angst-ridden confessions, awful puns and other important enrichments to human conversation! However, personal attacks or political/religious rants will get you shown the door. Your evil moderatrix exercises benevolent tyranny with regard to postings, boundaries of topic relevancy, and participation. The key here is style; if yours wouldn't fly in my living room, you'll be warned, and if you persist, out you go. For freedom of speech and untempered personal expression, there are quite a few alternative fora and mailing lists that members here can recommend.
We like to encourage members to let us know about
upcoming events that are important to their creative life. If regularly
contributing community members have the opportunity to tell us about
gigs and musical accomplishments, it allows us to be exposed to
everyone's music and better relate to what's being talked about on
the list.
However, SynthSights is NOT the place to cross-post prepared promotional info, that is, notices about gigs, performances or CD releases that are simply pasted and not tailored for the group. We don't want the list to become a dumping ground for promo notices!
You may post your own promotional info. if
- you are a known contributor to the group, and
- the information is directly relevant to our discussions.
SynthSights members may post private gear sale notices, but NOT pointers to items for sale via Ebay or other online auctions. The Files section may come in handy for updates and photos.
Inappropriate promo or for-sale postings will result in swift, merciless banination! If you are in any doubt about the appropriate-ness of a posting, please contact one of the admins in private mail first.
Please be careful to use proper subject headings and quote the fewest lines necessary with your response. The judicious posting of URLs for our amusement is fine, as long as you note the nature of the material in your post
